Oregon Sunshine is a hardy, drought-tolerant perennial wildflower with bright golden daisy blooms. Seeds germinate best with a cold period, so the easiest method is to direct sow outdoors in late fall or winter. Scatter seeds on bare or lightly raked soil and press them in—don’t bury deeply, just a very thin dusting is enough because they need light to sprout. If you’re sowing in spring, cold-stratify first by refrigerating seeds in a slightly damp paper towel or sand for about 3–6 weeks, then sow. Choose a full-sun spot with well-drained soil; sandy, rocky, or gravelly soil is ideal. Keep soil lightly moist until germination (often 2–4 weeks once temps warm), then thin seedlings to about 30–45 cm (12–18 in) apart. Planting on a slope or raised bed helps prevent soggy roots.
